Marketing Automation Platform Engineer

BrightWave, an Ansira Company, is on the hunt for a Marketing Automation Platform Engineer to join the Technology Team in a high-visibility, high-stakes, high-impact role. This position works at the leading edge of email & CRM marketing technology while playing a key role in the success of all BrightWave clients. This individual will work within the Technology team to design and implement solutions that drive a competitive edge for our clients through the innovative utilization of marketing technology.

Typical work related activities include:

  • Close collaboration with Technical Campaign Managers, Client Services Teams, Marketing Strategists, & Developers to design and execute complex, data-driven marketing programs and automations
  • Work closely with account teams in auditing, shaping and guiding email programs for both enterprise B2C and/or B2B clients
  • Perform in-depth capability and configuration assessment of client’s marketing data & technology solutions
  • Assist with the development of marketing technology optimization roadmaps for clients
  • Help guide marketing automation platform implementations as well as migrations between platforms
  • Write and troubleshoot SQL queries within the Enterprise level Marketing Automation & ESP platforms to generate campaign audiences and support campaign reporting functions
  • Develop and streamline marketing performance reporting based upon data and email program requirements
  • Serve as one of BrightWave’s technical SMEs and assist with training for internal & external stakeholders
  • Contribute to recommendations for executive level audiences relating to ESP technology

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with technical, non-technical and executive audiences
  • 5+ Years’ experience with at least 2 of the following enterprise marketing automation platforms: Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Adobe Experience Cloud, Acoustic, Eloqua, Responsys, Marketo, Message Gears, Cordial, or a similar platform)
  • 2+ Year’ HTML Experience
  • 2+ Years’ SQL Experience; Ability to write, edit and troubleshoot custom SQL queries
  • 2+ Years’ experience working in a fast-paced marketing agency or professional services environment
  • Understanding of marketing database and data management technologies (both on-prem and cloud-based) as well as relational database architecture
  • Hands-on experience working with API calls
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, Macros, VBA), PowerPoint, Word
  • Experience creating and building audience filters, looping blocks, content blocks, dynamic blocks, API posts, FTP import templates, UTM & other tracking parameters
  • Experience managing quality assurance/control (QA/QC) process and protocols for sign off on campaign deliverables including creating holdout groups, proofing groups, and adding a custom suppression list 
  • Experience with project management tools (Workfront, Basecamp, Microsoft Project, Teamwork, etc...) a huge plus
  • Extensive understanding of digital projects and email campaign requirements
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize under ever-changing needs and schedules; supporting multiple clients at once in a dynamic environment while meeting tight deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills and proactive manner
  • Uncanny ability to learn how to use new technology
  • Client-facing experience
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to articulate ideas clearly in both oral and written communication
  • Bachelor's degree in Advertising, Marketing, MIS, IT or related field strongly preferred
